UNC Marsico Hall BRIC – MRI & CT Renovations


Located in Marsico Hall, the Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) 3T MRI has been heavily utilized and has exceeded its operating capacting. RND was selected by UNC Chapel Hill to relocate an existing PET/CT to add another 3T MRI which will accommodate present and future research needs.

Hillsborough Water Facility Conceptual Planning


Following the successful completion of the Hillsborough Town Barn and Annex Renovation project, RND has been selected to perform a feasibility study and conceptual planning for the adaptive re-use of the Town’s existing Adron F. Thompson Water/Sewer Facility. The project will entail extensive site investigations, conceptual design and planning, and the development of recommendations with cost estimates.

Raleigh State Crime Lab Renovation


This project will involve the complete renovation of the existing Crime Lab’s fourth floor, including the design of new modern lab areas for processing as well as HVAC system upgrades. RND has a long history of collaboration with the NC DOJ and is excited to continue our relationship with them through this project.

UNC Lenoir Dining Hall Addition


Lenoir Dining Hall is located at the heart of UNC Chapel Hill’s campus. It neighbors The Pit, a highly active student gathering area, as well as several  other prominent campus buildings. RND was awarded this exciting project which will increase the existing dining hall’s seating capacity.

Our team conducted extensive site investigations, surveys, and analyses to identify the most strategic location for the project addition. We then proposed several design schemes through sketches, diagrams, and renderings in combination with preliminary cost estimates to advance the project from schematic design to design development.

Raleigh State Veterans Home


The design of the new Raleigh State Veterans home 120-bed facility features four distinct neighborhoods, each with 2-3 intimate households. As a result of this organization, each resident room is equipped with at least one window and views to the surrounding landscape.

UNC Taylor Student Health Services Renovation


Construction is well underway in the comprehensive renovation of over 13,000 SF of the Taylor Student Health Services facility on UNC Chapel Hill’s main campus. The project will increase the existing facility’s floor plan and introduce additional office, exam, staff support, and patient waiting areas. The project also includes extensive MEP upgrades and landscape improvements to increase building visibility and ADA accessibility.

This project’s construction is phased to enable the facility to remain operational throughout the entire process. RND is providing Construction Administration.

Durham Judicial Building Annex Renovation


Demolition is underway at the Durham Judicial Building Annex in Durham, NC. RND is providing Construction Administration services for the project after leading its design phases.

The project involves a full renovation of the first and second floors as well as architectural upgrades to the first floor lobby and entry. In addition, our team will replace the existing four-stop elevator and provide comprehensive new finishes, furnishings, signage, and graphics.

Europa Center Renovation


The Europa Center is a large and prominent business and office building in Chapel Hill. Our team recently completed design and construction of a series of renovations and upgrades to the Atrium, all restrooms, and corridors. The design brightens the common areas and modernizes the Europa Center to the forefront of Class A office buildings.
