Luke Bowen
Architectural Intern
Every environment is an opportunity for inspiration.
Luke is joining RND as an architectural intern for the summer of 2026. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology from Wake Technical Community College and is a senior currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Building Sciences at Appalachian State University.
Throughout his education, Luke has developed a strong foundation in architectural modeling and design. He has worked extensively with a variety of design software, building a firm understanding of architectural visualization and technical drafting. His skillset and attention to detail led him to earn second place in the 2025 North Carolina SkillsUSA Drafting Competition. He is especially passionate about designs that respond thoughtfully to their surrounding context, viewing every environment as an opportunity for inspiration. After completing coursework focused on historical preservation and sustainable practices, Luke grew an appreciation for adaptive re-use projects.
Luke’s interest in architecture began through his love of 3D mixed media art, particularly working with wire and EVA foam. Wanting to turn his passion for design and creation into a career, he pursued architecture. Outside of work and school, Luke enjoys biking, singing, and taking care of his family’s nine chickens.
