Neighborhood Park on Carpenter Fire Station Road
The Neighborhood Park on Carpenter Fire Station Road project included a cool new 625 SF contemporary restroom building located at the park’s central drop off point. The building mediates a place between vibrant play areas, colorful public art, and frequently active baseball fields. Subtlety knitted within the park’s overall design context, the quirky restroom building serves as both an amenity and wayfinding point for the park’s skateboarding, basketball, dog park, and walking trail users.
RND enjoyed working with our design partners, Town of Cary staff, and public artists during the pandemic period and followed through with successful construction partnerships in the post-pandemic realization of this and another park project we designed and built concurrently, the neighborhood park on McCrimmon Road.
With Surface678’s excellent landscape design, our structures accommodate accessibility from the parking areas, pedestrian connectivity with the surrounding areas, and easy wayfinding which complements the surrounding park natural and designed elements. We appreciate the energy and thought the Town of Cary requires and enjoy the great results of our collaborations.
