Makenzie Morse, Assoc. AIA, NOMA

Architectural Designer

“Architecture is an experience that has the power to tell a story.”

Makenzie is a skilled and dedicated Architectural and Interior Designer who joined the RND team in 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture and Interior Architecture from the University of Memphis and began her design career in 2018. Known for her personable nature, Makenzie appreciates strong client relationships and excels at managing tasks to keep projects on track. She has 7 years of design experience and is on track to become a registered architect.

Makenzie has primarily worked on education projects, where she has come to appreciate the vibrant energy students bring to these spaces and how they engage with the design. She also enjoys working on community-centered projects, such as the Wake County Animal Shelter, where she can make a meaningful difference. Notable projects she’s worked on include the UNC Pharmacy and the Elon Health Sciences Renovation. Her design philosophy initially focused on designing well-integrated spaces but has developed into creating environments where people are free to form their interpretations based on the design’s intent. She’s particularly interested in how people interact within a space and the story that is created from each perspective.

Makenzie’s passion for architecture began in childhood, inspired by her family’s experience building their own home. Outside of work, Makenzie enjoys art, spending time with her rescued animals, and exploring new restaurants.
